Season 1
Eighteen days of Bitcoin, mined again
Your browser hashes. A block closes every minute and the whole reward goes to whoever found it: the subsidy of its era plus 1% of the fee mempool.
The season has not opened yet.
The open block
The season
Eighteen cells, one for each Bitcoin year the season replays. Press one to read its blocks.
Nothing has been mined yet, so every year is still empty.
Block 0
Genesis
Like Satoshi's own first block, block 0 of this chain carries the headline of the day the season opened. Everything after it is mined.
The headline goes into the memo when the season opens
The token of this chain
$POH
Contract address, not published yet
Vadim writes the mint here at launch
The miner
Nothing is installed, nothing is signed, no wallet is connected: an address is only where the SOL is sent.
Your Solana address
Payouts go straight to it. Nothing else is stored.
How you mine
Solo: you take the whole block, or nothing.

The chain
Every closed block, as it was written into its memo. Press a block to check it yourself, or press a hash to copy it.
The people's pool
From season day 1.9, the day the first pool opened in November 2010, browsers can mine together. The pool splits every block it finds by the work each browser sent in.

The season table
One row per wallet, ordered by what the season has paid it.
What happens, and when
Every halving and every event sits on the real date it happened, translated into the season.
How it works
Nothing to buy, nothing to sign, nothing to install.
Step 1
Put in an address
Any Solana address you can receive on. It is never signed with and never leaves your browser except inside a proof.
Step 2
Hash
Your browser looks for a hash of the previous block, this height, your address and a nonce that lands below the target. In 2009 that is Argon2id, from July 2010 it is SHA-256d.
Step 3
Send the proof
The first proof under the target takes the block: the subsidy of its era plus 1% of the fee mempool. In the pool the block is split by the work each browser sent.
Step 4
Read the memo
The SOL is sent in the same transaction that writes the block into a memo on Solana. The whole chain can be rebuilt from those memos by anyone.
Step 5
Where the money comes from
Creator fees of $POH are forwarded by hand to the keeper and cut five ways: 40% the subsidy reserve, 35% the fee mempool, 10% the event fund, 10% the halving buyback and burn, 5% servers.
Step 6
What a block pays
The subsidy follows the halvings on their real dates and halves at each one. The fees are 1% of the mempool, so as the subsidy falls the fees grow, exactly as they did.
Step 7
The GPU miner
From season day 1.5 the source of a graphics card miner is published here, the way it was published in July 2010. No binary, no installer: the source, and whoever builds it gets the advantage.
Step 8
Season 2
When the last block closes, the season is finished and the table is final. Season 2 replays the history of Solana from March 2020.
What can go wrong
The four things most likely to disappoint you, said out loud.
Whales in the graphics card era
A big machine will take more blocks than a laptop from day 1.5. That is what happened in 2010 too. The people's pool is the answer the history gave, and it is here from day 1.9.
The volume may not match the forecast
The subsidy is capped by the reserve. If less is forwarded, a block pays less; the halving schedule does not move. S0 is recomputed only between seasons.
The pizza
Delivery to some countries may not work. There is always the price of two pizzas in SOL instead, and the finder chooses.
What this is not
There is no entry fee and nothing to buy to mine. A block is paid for work, and a season can pay less than it costs you in electricity.
